Long Lake Boat Regatta

Just you and 14 of your friends taking a furious paddle

This annual event features the North American War Canoe Championships, a 15-mile race that begins and ends on the shores of Long Lake across from the Adirondack Hotel. War canoes aren’t armed with anything more than a huge number of paddlers: seven pairs of racers sit side-by-side on each craft, with a coxswain helping to steer.

War canoes are limited to 28 feet long
