The Wild Center
Otters, prehistoric fish, treetop trails, private tours, movies – why wait for rotten weather?
The Wild Center packs an incredible amount to see and do into 54,000 square feet and 81 acres and its cool new trail across the treetops. The Center has all manner of exhibits, many of them alive, that let you explore the region’s wild side - trails, and a river where you can grab a canoe, let you get outside too. The $36 million Center designed by the folks who did Air & Space in our nation's capital, has drawn more than 600,000 visitors since it opened.
At a glance
- The otters are the stars of the live animal shows – watch them cavort endlessly between feedings and exercise sessions.
- Wild Walk takes you up and over the forest, right up to a bald eagle's next 42-feet off the ground.
- Kids love the playground with hollowed-out logs, stumps to climb and other natural apparatuses.
