The sweet science of maple syrup is a $15-million-a-year business in New York State

Two people a year are inaugurated into the Maple Hall of Fame on the first floor of the museum; more than 70 industry luminaries have been inducted. The museum is open from Memorial Day until September, but area sugar bushes offer tours during the March sugaring season. Check out the wooden sap-storage vat eaten through by a porcupine.
