Located between the wilds of the Adirondacks (30 miles to the east) and the St Lawrence River (30 miles to the north) lie two educational centers of the North Country.  Potsdam (Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam) and Canton (St Lawrence University and Canton College) are small towns rich in history, culture and the arts. This trail continues outside of these towns, including Colton to the south and linking smaller St. Lawrence County communities along the way to Ogdensburg to the west.
